Charlie: Divorce is final. You are a free man.
Jack: I don't know if ... is the appropriate sentiment. Four years...woman I loved, I got my ass kicked.
Charlie: HIgh-five.(高擊掌)
Jack: Not that kind of moment either.
Charlie: Down low?(低擊掌)
Jack: Just because I want this to stop.
Charlie: You are officially the wrost client I've ever heard. Let Lisa have everything. Even the judge wanted you to keep those boxing gloves.(拳擊手套) She really liked you.
Jack: I liked her too, as far as judges go. (以法官來說她不錯。Excellent stuff. You think she'd like to buy a handmade, stainable teak boat?(手工原色柚木船)
Charlie: Maybe if it came with private lessons. They can't win. That' s why people don't want them.
Jack: Alright, They can't win, but they lose beautifully. And the whole experience is just better. Look at this. I'm making these boats the exact same way...the Spanish and the Portuguese(葡萄牙) made their ships of exploration. There's a continuity at stake here(這艘船是有歷史的), Charlie. It's more than a boat. This is time machine.
Charlie: If you paid this much attention to Lisa...you'd still be together.
Jack: This is true. But you know what? If I had to do it all over again, I would' t. I wouldn't(marry her). Lisa taught me ablut sadness... about human frailty... and how unbearable fleeting happiness can be(稍踨即逝). I' m gonna owe her for the rest of my life.
Charlie: Oh, you'll be paying. Monthly.(你會按月還給她)
MIchael: Yeah, Jennifer just gets tired of all the family gatherings.(家族大聚會) Too many old stories. It makes her feel left out.(排斥在外)
Sarah: Yeah, Kevin used to say that.
other brother in laws: I still say it.
I say it too.
MIchael: It seems hard now, Sarah, I know... but you get a chance to make a new life for yourself.
Sarah: Thank you, but in the marketplace of available women--
Michael: Any guy would be lucky to get you. You are smart, you are funny...even pretty when you're not wallowing in self-pity.(自憐自哀)
Sarah: Am I wallowing?Really?
Michael: You're not the wallower in the family. Carol is the wallower.(在泥水中打滾者、墮落、縱樂者)
Carol: Me? I never wallow. I suffer in silence.
Jack: I think women have the whole planned. An epic narrative(愛情史詩大戲) in their heads. You know my theory about this ? when you meet, they have the whole story written. But you don't get to read it. But if you go off script(脫稿演出)..right?They write you out of the story. I got written out of Act 3.
Charlie: NOw , you're in Act 4, where I get you banged every night of the week.
Jack: Charlie, I'm toast. I just got shredded(切成碎片). I am--It's time, healing time(療傷期). I'm on the bench. I'm out of the game. Bench me, bench me(換我下場). Benched.
